Richard is a keen advocate for Māori economic self-determination. For the past three decades he has poured his heart and soul into his work, helping Māori enterprises grow, develop, and flourish.

Through his efforts, he has sparked numerous collaborative initiatives across a wide range of sectors, including tourism, food & beverage, primary sector, energy, and investment. His passion and drive have inspired others to join him on this journey towards helping people become more self-determining.

Richard shows no signs of slowing down! In fact, he’s taken on a new challenge – the establishment of a vertically integrated dairy sheep enterprise. This is just one of the many activities he’s involved in, which also includes housing development, marae resilience initiatives, and even operating a beverage business as a side hustle!
